RS/Quests/Wolf Whistle (2008)

Overview

Wolf Whistle is a quest in RuneScape. It is notable for being pratically lost media; the quest was replaced by a newer variant on 31 January 2012 so it does not exist in RuneScape 3. The quest also does not exists in Old School RuneScape either. It was also removed prior to May 2012; meaning it was never included in Jagex's backups

Archive details

This archive was compiled using the following methods:

1. A list of quest states was made using [Kirreu]'s playthrough
2. A list of quest subjects was compiled using [Kirreu]'s playthrough
3. [BUMHEADSH0T]'s playthrough was parsed for quest subjects
4. A list of quest areas was compiled using various sources (see section)
5. [osrs.world] was used to compile this dataset which lists locs found in the quest areas (the cache rs2-666_2011-10-04 was used). Subjects were then added to the subjects section.
6. Using LibreOffice's datamerging function and the subject list, the base wikicode for the interaction section was generated.
7. Actions were fetched using a historical cache (see [C1]).
8. Interactions in [Roccorii]'s playthrough were archived.
9. [GoingCrazy201]'s playthrough was parsed for non-standard quest interactions.
10. [Kirreu]'s playthrough was parsed for non-standard quest interactions.
11. RuneScape Wiki was parsed for historical examines.
12. 59 YouTube video of this quest were parsed for non-standard interactions. A list of video parsed can be found in this spreadsheet.
13. Missing interactions which are lost media were flagged as such

Misc notes

• The player can kill the regular wolves on White Wolf Mountain to obtain the required Wolf bones (ID 2859) [Kirreu]

• Animal Apogee unlocks during the quest in 34,83 (Pikkupstix’s cave) [Roccorii]
• 2009scape's implementation of the quest has many inaccuracies; quest journal verbatim is incorrect and non-standard interactions for Ladder (ID 28572) appears to be a complete (but reasonable) interaction guess. As such, it is believed that this quest was recreated after it was removed in RuneScape 3
• The Adventurer's Log message for this quest was Clearing Pikkupstix's attic required a spirit wolf and a little bit of bravery. I doubt I'll see a wolpertinger quite that big ever again!
