Overview[edit]
An unlock hint is a string of text sent by the RuneScape Server when the "unlock hint" interaction is performed in the music player interface[1]. This feature was added on 07 February 2008[2].
For example, the music track Upir Likhyi has the unlock hint during Branches of Darkmeyer. in build 667[3].

Data guide[edit]
RuneScape[edit]
In RuneScape, music unlock hints used to be in the cache. They were located in enums 952 and 1351[Note 1][4]. The last cache with hints that we have available is 685[5]. They can be dumped using those scripts[Note 2][6]. Unlock hints are totally absent from RuneScape 3 caches[7].

Unlisted music tracks all have a not unlockable! unlock hint[9]. Although there is an unlock hint behavior for those, this specific string is not seen in-game[10].
Old School RuneScape[edit]
In Old School RuneScape, unlock hints are stored in the cache in dbtable_44.dbrow[11].
